3SCREEN can work with all operating systems. This includes Mac OS, Windows, Chrome and even a Nintendo Switch!

Yes, 3SCREEN can be used with the Microsoft Surface. The Mini DisplayPort will drive video to one screen and the USB 3.0 port will drive video to the other screen (using a simple USB to HDMI adapter).

The 3SCREEN is also compatible with the Microsoft Surface Pro (versions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, X). However, adjustments will be needed:

All in all, while the 3SCREEN is compatible with the Surface Pro, we find it is best enjoyed on a traditional style laptop versus a tablet.

Yes, as long as your laptop screen is at least 11.8 inches wide (outside edge to outside edge) and as long as your laptop has a USB output and a video output, it is compatible with 3SCREEN.

  • 2 x Mini HDMI to HDMI
  • 2 x USB-C to USB-C (90 degree)
  • 2 x USB-A to USB-C

We have worked with dozens of adapters and have a few recommendations:

These items can be cheaply and easily located online at Amazon, Walmart, BestBuy and most computer parts & peripheral retailers.

The 3SCREEN allows screen functionality on Samsung and Huawei devices using their individual softwares. However, it does not work on iPhone or other Android devices at this time.

Yes, the brightness is adjustable using the on screen display controls located on the side of each screen. You can also adjust brightness, contrast and other settings.

Each monitor on the 3SCREEN features a 1080P (1920×1080 pixel) resolution running at 60hz.

Right-Click in an empty spot on your desktop while the 3SCREEN is connected and choose “Display Setting”. Scroll down to the bottom of this menu. If you have a duplicate screen and want to change it to “Extend Mode”, click on the “Duplicate these displays” drop down box. When the dropdown box is opened, choose “Extend these displays”. Then click “Apply”. Now you are in Extend Mode.
Plug your monitor, go to “System Preferences- Display-Arrangement”, uncheck the “Mirror Displays” box.
If you are already in “Extend mode”, click on the 2nd screen icon. Then open the Orientation drop down box and change it from “Landscape” to “Landscape (flipped)”- Click “Apply”- Move the 2nd display icon from the right to the left of the 1st display by simply “Dragging and Dropping” it. Click “Apply” to finish the setting of the lay out.
If you are using Catalina OS and DisplayLink macOS App, you can only use the monitor on the right side. If you are using any other system, please plug your monitor and go to “System Preferences> Display-Arrangement> Display-Rotation> select “180 degree”.

If your screens won’t turn on then you first need to check your connections.

  • Make sure that you have BOTH a video AND power feed going to each screen. Unless your laptop has a USB-C with Display port or a Thunderbolt 3 port you will need to use 2 cables per screen to it to function. (1 HDMI video cable and 1 USB-C cable power)
  • If you are using a USB-C port on your laptop along with a single USB-C 90 degree to USB-C cable for power and video, make sure that your laptop supports video over this USB-C port. Search for your laptop user manual online for these details.
  • If you are using a USB splitter or USB-Hub try plugging the cables directly into the laptop ports instead of the hub or splitter and see if that fixes the problem. Most splitters and hubs split the power from a single USB port thus restricting the required power supply to each screen.

Next, make sure that you are using the correct combination of cables.

If you are getting a message on one of the screens that says “No Signal” or “No Input” see below for some troubleshooting tips!
